Mountain Biking - Oakwoods Trail session
Welcome to the Boundless Trails Mountain Bike Taster Sessions in partnership with Elgin Youth Development Group.
These free taster sessions will take place at the Oakwoods in Elgin and are designed to give young people aged 12–18 the opportunity to try off-road cycling in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.
The focus is on building confidence, learning basic riding skills, and enjoying time outdoors together — not competition or performance. Sessions are delivered in small groups and led by a qualified, trauma-informed mountain bike leader. Riding will be at a pace that suits everyone, with plenty of encouragement and support throughout.
Please note: Participants must already be able to confidently and competently ride a two-wheeled bike, including steering and braking independently. These sessions are not suitable for beginners who are still learning to ride.
Sessions will run with a maximum of 6 participants to keep the group small, safe and supportive. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Date: Wednesday 01/04/2026
Meeting Point: Meet at Brumley Brae car park at 1:30pm.
Session time: 1:30pm-3:30pm
Pick up: Same as drop off (Brumley Brae car park)
What to bring: Mountain bike in good working order, helmet, gloves, waterproof jacket, change of clothes, kneepads (optional), trail snacks (protein bars, bananas), and plenty of water. If your young person does not have a bike, we may be able to provide one (subject to availability).
