Professional Referrals
Trails to Wellbeing is Boundless Trails’ referral-only, 1:1 mountain biking programme for people aged 12+ who may benefit from additional individual support before accessing group or community activities.
The programme may be suitable for people who are:
experiencing anxiety, low mood or low confidence
socially isolated or finding it difficult to engage with others
physically inactive or disconnected from outdoor activity
finding group activities difficult or overwhelming
likely to benefit from a low-pressure, individually supported approach to building confidence and wellbeing
Participants can receive up to 6 fully funded 1:1 sessions, tailored to their needs and starting point. Where appropriate, we support participants to gradually progress towards community rides, other outdoor activities or wider opportunities for social connection and participation.
Before making a referral
Participants must be able to ride a bike independently, with basic balance and control.
We are unable to accept referrals where mobility or visual impairment would prevent safe participation in off-road cycling.
A referral does not automatically guarantee a place. We will consider whether Trails to Wellbeing is appropriate for the individual's needs and whether we can support them safely.
Participants can attend with a carer or support worker where this is appropriate and agreed in advance.
Trails to Wellbeing is a community-based wellbeing programme and is not a clinical, counselling or therapeutic service.
