Boundless Trails - MTB Coaching Booking Terms
Bookings and payment
Places are only confirmed once full payment has been received. The session fee is £30 per rider, per session. Where a Boundless Trails bike and helmet are requested, an additional £10 per session applies. Equipment is subject to suitable sizing and availability and will be confirmed by Boundless Trails.
Minimum numbers
A minimum of four riders is required for each session to go ahead. If Boundless Trails cancels a session because minimum numbers have not been reached, you will be offered the option to transfer your booking to another available session or receive a full refund.
Cancellations by participants
If you need to cancel your booking, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellations made at least 7 days before the session will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 7 days of the session are non-refundable, unless the place can be filled by another rider.
Bookings may be transferred to another young person of the appropriate age, subject to prior agreement with Boundless Trails and completion of the required participant information and consent.
Cancellations by Boundless Trails
Sessions may occasionally need to be cancelled or changed due to severe weather, trail conditions, coach availability or other circumstances affecting the safe delivery of the activity. Where Boundless Trails cancels a session, participants will be offered an alternative session where possible or a full refund.
Normal Scottish weather, including rain, will not normally result in cancellation - mountain biking can be muddy! Any decision to cancel or modify a session will be based on safety and trail conditions.
Participant requirements
Young people must be able to independently ride a two-wheel bike, steer confidently and use their brakes. Previous mountain biking or trail-riding experience is not required.
Coaches may adapt activities, features or trails according to a rider's age, experience, confidence, ability and the conditions on the day.
Mountain biking and risk
Mountain biking is an adventurous activity and involves inherent risks, including falls, collisions and injury. Boundless Trails will take reasonable steps to manage foreseeable risks through qualified coaching, appropriate supervision, risk assessment and safe operating procedures, but risk cannot be completely eliminated from mountain biking.
Parents/guardians must provide accurate information that may be relevant to their young person's safe participation and inform Boundless Trails of any changes before the session.
Bikes and helmets
All riders must wear a suitable cycling helmet during riding activities.
Where participants bring their own bike and helmet, the parent/guardian is responsible for ensuring they are in a safe and rideable condition. Boundless Trails coaches will carry out a basic visual safety check before riding and may prevent equipment from being used if they consider it unsafe or unsuitable for the activity.
Boundless Trails bikes and helmets will be checked before use. Riders must follow coach instructions regarding the safe use of equipment.
Behaviour and safety
We want sessions to be enjoyable, positive and safe for everyone. Riders are expected to follow reasonable instructions from coaches and behave in a way that does not put themselves or others at unnecessary risk.
Where necessary, a coach may modify or stop a rider's participation in an activity if there is a significant safety concern. Parents/guardians will be contacted if a young person cannot safely continue with the session.
Photography and video
Photography and video consent is optional and is collected separately during booking. Choosing not to give photography/video consent will not affect a young person's ability to participate.
Personal information
Information provided through the booking form will be used to organise and safely deliver the activity and to communicate with parents/guardians about their booking. Personal information will be handled in accordance with Boundless Trails' privacy arrangements.
Agreement
By submitting a booking and completing the parent/guardian declaration, you confirm that you have read and agree to these booking terms and that the information provided about the participant is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
